FAQ
Sign-up, matches, maps and prizes in short.
01Sign-up and roster
Who can play?
Players ranked Iron to Immortal. Tier I: Diamond, Ascendant, Immortal. Tier II: Iron - Platinum. Radiant and unranked players are not eligible. Both players of a duo must be in the same tier.
I have no partner. What now?
Only complete duos can sign up. Find a partner on the Val Qauym Discord: the captain creates the duo on the site and shares a code, the partner joins with it.
How is my rank checked?
From your Riot ID: the site pulls your current rank. Moderators review profiles, and a duo can be removed if an account looks like a smurf or the rank does not match how they play.
Can I change my partner?
Before the draw, a partner can leave the duo and a captain can disband it while it is not in the bracket. After the draw the roster is fixed.
02Matches and check-in
When are the matches?
Tier I plays on 24 October, Tier II on 25 October. The exact time of every match appears in the bracket after the draw.
What is check-in?
Confirming you are there. It opens 30 minutes before the match and closes at the start. Both players must check in, in the match room on the site or with the bot's button on Discord.
My partner did not show up. Are we out?
Not necessarily. If your partner did not check in, you can play one against two. If you decline or do not answer before the start, it counts as a technical loss.
How long is a match?
Up to 19 rounds of 1.5 minutes, so about 28.5 minutes at most. No overtime.
What if the game crashes or the server lags?
The tournament admins decide. A match can be stopped only with a technical pause agreed with the referee.
03Rules and prizes
How is the map chosen?
Captains secretly pick heads or tails. The flip winner bans first, then the teams alternate. One of the five Skirmish maps is left, and that is the one you play.
What gets you disqualified?
Turning on the lobby Cheats setting or using any console command. Also insults, t-bagging and shooting bodies. Details are in the rules.
What are the prizes?
In each tier, 1st and 2nd place win prizes, one device for each player of the duo. Three more devices go to viewers of the official stream.
