A separate third place match is not needed. In double elimination a team leaves the tournament only after its second loss, so third place goes to whoever was knocked out last before the grand final — the loser of the semifinal. The loser of the upper bracket final is not eliminated at that point: with only one loss, they drop into the semifinal and can still reach first place.
